Description

Job Summary:

To work alongside the President of the company to strategize and create the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and management of the Sales department.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the President to implement sales strategies and introduce cutting edge and innovative technologies required to stay ahead of the business, and initiatives required to drive sales within the organization.
  • Manage and build NY sales staff; Conduct monthly sales meetings and develop a strong collaboration with operations.
  • Oversee, establish, and enforce the sales processes, protocols, best practices and infrastructure across the company.
  • Responsible for the interviewing, recruiting, and training of the company sales force.
  • Manage research and analysis to stay abreast of trends in the industry.
  • Direct and coordinate the operations of sales personnel to ensure compliance with sales objectives.
  • Maximize the utilization of technologies
    • Manage Cargowise (ERP) to ensure efficient sales operations and productivity.
    • Leverage utilization of CRM to manage forecasts and sales leads.
    • Manage lead generation resources.
    • Utilize marketing tools to forward sales results, i.e. Constant Contact.
  • Evaluate and implement sales efficiencies.
  • Manage the customer service aspect of sales.
  • Set up dashboards to evaluate sales performance, and establish metrics and goals; maintain the appropriate sales reports. Review data to analyze individual and team performance.
  • Collaborate with the senior management team to manage participation in trade shows and conferences to ensure the appropriate people are attending the appropriate events.

Requirements
  • Experience in customs brokerage/freight/logistics industry a must (5 or more years' experience)
  • Experience in sales and operations management
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations, or marketing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Technically proficient utilization of CRM; Cargowise knowledge a plus
  • Adept at process management, establishing protocols, and follow-through
  • Effective at managing for results
  • Leadership skills Well versed in coordinating a sales team to achieve set sales objectives
  • Strong organization skills
  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ) skills are a must
