Freight Sales Operations Manager West Coast



We are a 3PL provider of Transportation Services supporting Shippers through Freight Brokerage and International Freight Forwarder related Operational support.

We are a team of entrepreneurs, truckers, and industry experts who have joined forces to support the freight shipping industry.

The Freight Sales Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing an Operations Team in the Seattle/Tacoma area. The Operations Manager will have a Sales mentality to help drive growth for the Western States, by driving growth to achieve the company's objectives of sales, margins, and reputation consistent with our corporate strategy and goals. The ideal candidate for this position will be hands-on, resourceful, and possess strong communication and relationship-building skills to maintain and grow our customer base. This is a salaried position.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive operational improvement initiatives to increase productivity gains while meeting/exceeding client service requirements.
  • Follow up with customers to provide ongoing account service and efficient logistics solutions after the sale to maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Address and resolve any customer-related issues.
  • Prepare pricing and proposal presentations.
  • Educate, mentor, and share best practices within the organization.
  • Expand customer base and enhance profitability by increasing profit margin along with new sales revenues across multiple offered services.
  • Leverage current knowledge of market and industry trends to generate new business from existing/new accounts.
  • Effectively communicate and work cohesively with the leadership team on marketing and sales strategy to ensure targets are met.
  • Manage and report Operational metrics on an ongoing basis.
  • Travel within the territory to meet key customers and manage high level client relationships as required.
  • Responsible for lead generation, pipeline management and sales cycle management.

Experience:
  • Bachelors in Business Administration preferred.
  • Previous experience working at a non-asset freight brokerage firm with full profit and loss accountability.
  • Experience working in a high paced, high growth environment.
  • Executive level presentation and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology tools.
  • History of rapidly growing results.
  • Effective communicator, team player, and inspiring leader.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and coaching abilities.
  • Proven experience building, mentoring, motivating, leading high-performance teams, and attracting top talent to exceed topline/bottomline goals.
  • 10 years' Operational roles with a background in:
    • International Freight Forwarding
    • Customs Brokerage
    • Drayage
    • Over the Road Transport
    • Freight Brokerage
    • Ocean/Air Freight Logistics
    • Warehouse Management/Business Development
