The Portland Bakery is a manufacturer of various cookies & crackers products including Wheat Thins, Ritz, Chips Ahoy!, OREO, Chicken Bisk-it, Good Thins Premium Saltines which are produced, unitized, and stored at the facility for shipment to various Distribution Centers and customers throughout the United States and Canada.
This position is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, controls, and utility systems at the Portland Bakery. Your role is to identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. Reporting to this position are Maintenance Planning, Stockroom and the Hourly Maintenance Reliability Team. The primary role includes loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management.
Leads the 3 groups, Maintenance Planning, Stockroom and the Hourly Maintenance Reliability Team to improve Equipment Reliability and eliminate losses.
- Responsible for the Asset Maintenance plan that includes:
- Value-added preventive maintenance tasks.
- Time-base maintenance plans.
Effective utilization of predictive and other methodologies designed to improve reliability and eliminate losses.
Develops solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations using tools such as:
- Statistical process control.
- Six Sigma (6-) methodologies.
- Root cause analysis (RCA).
Provides technical support to production, and maintenance personnel as needed.
Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/design and make/buy decisions.
Works with project engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans for new installs.
