Regional Sales Manager



Position Summary:

In this highly visible position, you will work closely with the US VP of Sales and other global counterparts to sell logistics services such as: freight forwarding, customs brokerage, warehousing and distribution. Your main responsibility is to establish plans and strategies to expand the company customer base and actively contribute to the development of the new storage activity by raising the number of new accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Typical tasks performed include a combination of the following:
  • Increase the client platform locally and nationally by prospecting and securing client/prospect visits to present the various services of the company.
  • Field time, sales visits and developing strong network within the industry
  • Attending/representing the company at trade shows.
  • Contacting new business, forming partnerships, renewing/enforcing agreements and quotes when needed
  • Recommend and implement sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses
  • Interaction with various internal personnel
  • Performs other related duties as required and requested

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience working in a competitive business environment
  • Knowledge of Public Refrigerated Warehousing industry
  • Local knowledge of transportation and logistics partners is essential
  • Able to plan, achieve results and create a pipeline for continued sales growth
  • Willing to travel and engage prospective customers across their territory
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Education/Experience:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related area, and at least 5 years of experience in the field.
  • Candidate must have considerable knowledge of food logistics and cold storage industry.
  • Ideal candidate must be Chicago based currently, self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal skills, verbal communication and strong leadership skills.
  • This position also requires excellent time management skills as well as very strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Fluency in oral and written English. French is a plus but not necessary.
