Logistics Coordinator - International Freight

Omnitrans is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to support our International Freight team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Receive, review, and process import documentation according to established procedures and customs regulations;
  • Determine the most cost-efficient method of moving freight;
  • Arrange bookings; coordinate freight movement from port to destination; including pick up, storage, and delivery;
  • Communicate with customers and resolve issues;
  • Coordinate export shipments from booking to delivery, including container loading/unloading and transportation;
  • Transmit shipping instructions to steamship lines;
  • Pay or arrange for payment of freight, insurance fees, and other charges;
  • Track and trace shipments;
  • Communicate and follow up with customers regarding complaints, questions, and other special instructions;
  • Prepare Rates, customer invoicing and billing;

  • Execution of export documentation requirements for shipments originating in Canada to global destinations, which include Letter of Credit shipments, Certificates of Origin, Commercial Invoices, House Bills of Lading, etc.;
  • Ensure all export documentation meets export regulations pertaining to destination country;
  • B-13 Filing with Canada Customs;
  • Filing of Master / Shipping Instructions with Steamship Lines;
  • Auditing of Master Bill of Lading Proofs and Coordination of Corrections with Steamship Lines;
  • Timely Invoicing and Document Distribution to Customer, Consignee and Oversea Agents;
  • Arrangement of shipment details with Customer, Carriers, Agents, and Third-Parties as necessary for exports;
  • Support the documentation requirements for international hazardous shipments for ocean export;
  • Prepare Rates, customer invoicing and billing;

  • Minimum 1 year experience in transportation, or international trade;
  • College diploma in a related field;
  • Bilingualism, French and English;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Well organized and ability to multitask;
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail;
  • Capable of working autonomously;
  • Knowledge of Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
