As the Sr. Director Labor Relations, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing strategies that support maximum levels of engagement for the company's employees and reduce union organizing activities. This role is critical in positioning XPO for long-term success.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Design, update and implement labor relations business strategy, including communications
  • Provide leadership, often acting as first responder, and materials for pre- or post-petition union campaigns
  • Manage direct interventions and lead the collective bargaining process as necessary
  • Create a culture focused on a programmatic approach to union avoidance, supporting education and training for XPO managers and supervisors
  • Drive the development and execution of enterprise-wide, best-in-class training for frontline employees and supervisors/managers on positive workplace practices and how to maintain a non-union working environment or a high performing organization in a labor environment
  • Oversee/manage or lead the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements to ensure they are in alignment with company objectives

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, management, business or related field
  • 15 years of significant labor management experience in both union and non-union environments

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Master's degree in HR, management, business or related field
