Administration Procurement Specialist



Shipco Transport Inc., a leading international cargo transportation company, has an immediate opening at our Americas Region office located in Hoboken, NJ, for a Procurement Specialist.

We are looking for a candidate who is dynamic, detail oriented, self-motivated, a team player who has strong analytical and business communication skills and can complete assigned tasks accurately and timely.

Job Description:
  • Study and fully understand each carrier contract rate structure, terms and conditions.
  • Contract amendment review per negotiation deals, sign off on contracts within required deadline.
  • Associate with PRC Contract Team and provide contract data inputting instructions and STI Online implementation.
  • Contract rate negotiations (both Export full contracts & Import bullets).
  • Arrange periodical contract rate review with carriers per market standard, to ensure Shipco best buying power as the world's leading NVOCC.
  • Carrier relations: weekly carrier meetings (on site) & industry events (off site).
  • Maintain Contract validity sheets, Free Time sheets, GRI/Surcharge sheet, Carrier contact sheet with timely updates and distribution.
  • Pricing sheet distribution for selected Agent & Customer accounts.
  • Provide assistance to Houston Auditing on pricing disputes.
  • STI Online IT development.
  • Trucking procurement and FCL operation knowledge are also required.

Job Requirements :
  • 2 years procurement experience. Carrier Contract experience is a plus
  • Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and customer service oriented.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Sharp negotiation skills.
  • Candidate must be detailed orientated, well organized, able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Candidate must be able to function equally well on an independent basis and as part of the Corporate Administration team.
